About The Position

Provides complex administrative support to three pathology fellowship programs in the Anatomic Pathology Division . Helps coordinate medical student rotations from both the University of Utah and other institutions within the division. Helps ensure that divisional goals and objectives are met in accordance with established criteria. Interprets program policies and advises program participants on the application of regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily program operations and program activities.
  • Works with the GME Office to ensure compliance to both ACGME and non- ACGME academic programs.
  • Provides administrative support for program director, associate program director, and housestaff.
  • Work harmoniously with technical laboratory personnel to support daily clinical operations.
  • Monitors related program expenditures and ensures budgets are not exceeded, processes travel requests, reimbursements, and other financial requests, including data entry and reallocation of funds to appropriate accounts.
  • Updates program policies as needed to be compliant with ACGME / GME Office.
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes data for specialized reports, assists with inventory management and maintenance of program and Division equipment (including microscopes and accessories).
  • Facilitates medical student rotations within the division.
  • Advises staff, students and others regarding program policies, goals, and related technical issues.
  • Prepares reports, financial statements and records on program status and progress for management and outside agencies.
  • Writes and edits program-related publications and promotional/educational materials.
  • Schedules meetings, seminars, and other related functions.
  • Assists with the onboarding/offboarding of fellows.
  • Other duties as assigned.
