About The Position

Unity House of Troy’s Domestic Violence Program is seeking a dedicated individual to assist with coordinating access to safe and stable housing for survivors of domestic & sexual violence. This role plays a critical part in supporting individuals as they navigate housing options and rebuild stability. Unity House is a Rensselaer County-based human service agency that provides a wide range of services to meet the otherwise unmet needs of people in our community who are hurting and struggling. We assist those who are living in poverty, adults living with mental illness or HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, and children with developmental delays. We work to achieve social justice in our community and to create a better understanding of those we serve.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required, along with relevant experience
Valid and clean New York State driver’s license
Reliable transportation required

Nice To Haves

College degree and/or prior experience working with survivors of domestic violence or similar populations preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct services to survivors of domestic violence
Assist clients with personalized safety planning
Offer referrals to community resources and support services
Coordinate housing resources and program services
Manage housing program operations, including waitlists and application processes
Participate in the RCHSC coordinated entry system
Foster an environment of inclusion, respect, and belonging
