COOP STUDENT - Accounting (Valid Driver's Licence required)

We are looking for an Accounting Coop for our Scarborough location. Wage for this role will be starting with $21.50/hr. Student must be currently in a coop program at college or university.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license (please provide proof) in good standing)
- Student will work 100% in the office.
- Enrolled in post-secondary Accounting Program with intention of completing CMA/CGA designation
- Excellent interpersonal, English communication and computer skills (must be an advanced excel user)
- You must be highly numerate and a logical, analytical thinker.
- Can work independently or in a team setting in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work under pressure and accurately handle large volumes of work
- Highly motivated, self-starter with a desire to learn a useful business skill
- Ability to manage your time and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Assisting Divisional Accountants in all aspects of General Ledger work in a large, diversified, multi-divisional manufacturing Company
- Assisting with daily runs to the bank using company’s car.
- Assisting bank runs by carrying documents to and from bank and occasionally cash handling.
- Providing a support service for Divisional Accounting teams
- Analyzing accounts to support G/L transactions, variance explanations and account reconciliations
- Preparing reports for Senior Management
- Participating in team meetings
- Other work as assigned
