About The Position

The Cryocooler Technician performs precision mechanical assembly for the cryocooler production line. The Cryocooler Technician also performs the required processes of cleaning, documenting, and testing of parts, subassemblies, and finished goods. This role utilizes production tooling, computers, and specialized equipment required for production and material/WIP tracking, identifies and documents discrepant material, and interacts with co-workers, managers, and the engineering department.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail
Basic computer proficiency, including navigating Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
Must be able to use a microscope to visually inspect small parts, up to 8 hours a day
Must be able to use small hand tools like tweezers, hex keys, and probes/picks
Must be able to use hands to move and assemble very small parts and fastening devices
Must be able to read, interpret, and work from equipment manuals, blueprints or sketches
Able to read, write, and communicate effectively using the English language
Able to sit or stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours day
Able to lift or carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted
Able to push or pull up to 50 lbs., unassisted

Nice To Haves

2+ years related experience with electro-mechanical assembly desired
Ability to read and understand written test procedures

Responsibilities

Perform precision mechanical assembly and adhesive application following work instructions
Perform measurements and execute test procedures; accurately record and document results
Perform data entry for travelers and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking systems
Assist Engineering in developmental processes, as necessary
Several cleaning operations
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
