About The Position

At NorthBay Health, the Cook works under the management and supervision of the Nutrition Services Supervisors and Manager. The role involves maintaining state and federal mandated standards of safety and cleanliness. Key responsibilities include hot food preparation and production, meal distribution within and between healthcare facilities, sanitation of kitchen facilities and equipment, tray-line meal assembly and production, and product inventory and ordering. The Cook also participates in departmental activities, projects, and programs, and is responsible for assigned product inventory and ordering.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates current knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains excellent communication and interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, employees and management.
  • Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality by reporting to work as scheduled, utilizing the Kronos time card system as instructed, and not exceeding departmental limits contained in the policies and procedures.
  • Follows all hospital and departmental safety policies to prevent injuries and exposures.
  • Meets or exceeds organizational standards for Joint Commission, Patient Safety and the Department of Health.
