About The Position

Exciting opportunity to join our established and expanding organization. Accredited by The Joint Commission, Hudson Behavioral Health is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization providing Behavioral Health Treatment in Salisbury, Maryland. Since its inception in 1980, Hudson Behavioral Health has been providing cutting edge treatment for Substance Use and other co-occurring disorders. Our services include Detoxification, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Partial Hospitalization, Treatment, 3.1 Housing and Outpatient Services. We are seeking a PT skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a food service environment and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality meals that meet our clients’ expectations while adhering to dietary guidelines. Hours will vary from early morning shifts through early evening and includes every other weekend.

Requirements

  • Serve Safe Certification.
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices and food handling regulations.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in food service.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities and the ability to work within dietary guidelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the nursing department to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
