About The Position
This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals, as well as baking pies, pastries, and desserts. The role also involves cleaning kitchen equipment and the work area during and after meal preparation and serving, maintaining sanitation standards, and receiving food orders while verifying invoice accuracy. The job requires the ability to plan and organize meals and understand and implement proper security procedures. This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in food service including preparation and cooking of food
- Must satisfactorily pass a Virginia Central Registry Check
- Must satisfactorily pass a physical examination
- Must satisfactorily pass a tuberculin test
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, diets, operation of kitchen equipment
- Ability to plan and organize meals
- Ability to understand and implement proper security procedures necessary
- Pre-employment drug testing
- FBI criminal background check
- Education/degree verification required
