About The Position

Recovery Works NW is seeking a Cook for their 16-bed, home-style medically managed withdrawal management facility. This role offers creative freedom in menu planning and cooking, a comfortable kitchen environment, and the opportunity to use food as a means of comfort and care in recovery. The position is for Sundays from 7 am to 6 pm.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Current food handlers permit
• Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets commonly used in a clinical setting
• Understanding of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
• Ability to read and interpret recipes, menus, and production sheets
• Current CPR certification, or willingness to obtain via company-paid class within 6 weeks of hire
• Passing an OHA Background check
• Successful completion of a urine analysis (UA) after accepting job offer

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare or institutional food service setting is preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements and portion control guidelines
• Ensure that food is prepared and presented in an attractive and appetizing manner
• Collaborate with the detox staff to plan menus, estimate food requirements, and order necessary supplies
• Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, and proper food storage and rotation
• Maintain accurate records of food production, temperature logs, and other required documentation
• Utilize infection control protocols and allergen management
