Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of successful cooking experience in an institutional or camp kitchen setting
  • Ability to interpret menus and prepare food accordingly
  • Knowledge of portion control, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and menu requirements
  • Most weekends are required to work the 6:30 am to 2:30 pm shift and Monday 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm shift.
  • The other 2 shifts are flexible.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to scheduled shifts, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Interpret menus to determine appropriate quantities, recipes, and food preparation methods
  • Properly utilize leftovers and manage portion control to minimize waste
  • Supervise food preparation activities and kitchen staff to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Contribute to a positive dining experience for all participants and staff
  • Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and storage
