About The Position

Focused Post Acute Care Partners (FPACP) is seeking a dynamic and excellent Cook to join their team in Huntsville, TX. FPACP prides itself on its culture and ROCKIN recognition program, ROCKStar, which acknowledges outstanding care and kindness. This program offers a gamified experience for team members to level up monthly and potentially attend the annual FPACP Gala. The Cook is responsible for preparing all meal items according to the menu, resident preferences, and dietary needs, while ensuring adherence to quality and safety policies and procedures during food production.

Requirements

  • Must have a ROCKSTAR attitude.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language, communicate effectively, and carry out verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Must have knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods.
  • Food Safety Manager Certification required to be presented within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be able to follow recipes, use basic math, and lead the team in Director of Food & Nutrition Services absence.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of cooking experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare kitchen setting will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all food items according to pre-determined menus, resident diets, and preferences identified on tray cards.
  • Perform daily scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with sanitation, safety, and infection control policies and procedures, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing walls and equipment while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Understand and execute the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving of food process within the Department of Food & Nutrition Services.
  • Safely utilize equipment and report any equipment needing service or repair immediately.
  • Ensure that all work areas are maintained, keeping them clean and safe in accordance with sanitary, safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with FPACP attendance policy.
  • Promote positive customer service with residents, family members, guests, and team members.
  • Use appropriate workplace behavior and adhere to the Department Food & Nutrition Services dress code.
  • Understand that other duties not listed may be required as needed.
