About The Position

Action Pact is a community action agency dedicated to improving lives and communities for over 50 years. We are seeking a full-time Cook to assist in all areas of food preparation according to planned/approved CACFP guidelines, serve clients, order, receive, and store supplies, complete necessary paperwork and inventory control, and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen and equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring that the individuals and families we serve have the opportunity for success.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Ability to read and write and understand general instructions
Valid Georgia Driver’s License
Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs without assistance

Nice To Haves

Experience is preferred
Knowledge of food preparation and handling

Responsibilities

Assist in all areas of food preparation following planned/approved guidelines
Serve clients
Receive and store supplies
Maintain clean and orderly kitchen and equipment
Assist in food preparation using routine and heavy-duty equipment
Participate in cooking, baking, frying, broiling using appropriate temperatures and times
Assist in receiving and storing food/supplies; maintain accurate records and inventories
Participate in serving clients
Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage areas per sanitation guidelines
Assist in instructing volunteers assigned as kitchen help
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Communicate and problem-solve with Center Coordinator
Ensure meals are prepared on schedule
Maintain good personal appearance and hygiene
Maintain confidentiality
Perform other related duties as assigned
