Requirements
- Must be able to read, write and understand simple printed matter.
- Must be able to complete mathematical problems including fractions.
- 6 months in institutional food preparation.
Responsibilities
- Prepares food for patients as prescribed by the attending physician.
- Prepares food for staff members for lunch and dinner daily as directed by menus, tally sheets and prep sheets.
- Foods are prepared according to recipes/procedures in the correct amounts following the specified sanitation and safety requirements of the department.
- Prepares foods to meet the expectations of guests and staff as to palatability, seasoning and textures.
- Performs the necessary cleaning requirements to keep the department clean, safe, orderly and sanitary.
- The person in this position demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide service appropriate to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
