As a Cook, you’ll help nourish patients, staff, and visitors with meals that meet both clinical standards and comforting tastes. Requirements
- Food Handler’s Certification (required)
- Strong organizational abilities, a team mindset, and excellent customer service
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in healthcare or institutional food prep preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare hot meals, cold items, baked goods, and therapeutic diet options using UMH-standard recipes
- Ensure meals are plated correctly and delivered on time to patients, staff, and visitors
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety throughout kitchen operations
- Follow HACCP procedures and assist with temperature logs, sanitation, and inventory
- Collaborate with dietitians and kitchen staff to meet modified diet needs
- Support catering for events and assist with deliveries as needed
