About The Position

Allegro Winter Park is hiring a Part-Time Cook to join our culinary team. This role offers consistent hours ending at 8pm and a rotating schedule, providing a fulfilling cooking experience without the late-night chaos of restaurant hours. The primary responsibility is to prepare high-quality, delicious, and attractive food for residents and guests, ensuring an exceptional dining experience. The Cook will also maintain food safety and sanitation standards, keep the kitchen clean and organized, and collaborate with the dining team for efficient meal service.

Requirements

  • Cook experience — required
  • ServSafe certification — required
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.

  • Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Some software and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious, quality meals according to approved menus and recipes.
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and ServSafe standards throughout every shift.
  • Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Collaborate with the dining team to deliver smooth, efficient meal service.
  • Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented.
  • Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
  • Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes.
  • Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, budgeted costs, and Company policies.
  • Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
  • Properly maintain all kitchen equipment.
  • Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
  • Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
