About The Position

Atlantic Specialty Care, a 90-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Atlantic, Iowa, is hiring a Cook for evening shifts. As part of Care Initiatives, the Cook helps provide a meaningful and supportive healthcare experience for residents by preparing and serving meals that meet nutritional and dietary requirements and reflect resident preferences. The role contributes to menu planning and supports an enjoyable, dignified dining experience. Care Initiatives operates more than 40 skilled nursing communities across Iowa and emphasizes exceptional resident care, inclusion, and career growth.

Requirements

Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
Willingness to complete training in food safety, sanitation, and modified diets.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a healthcare dietary setting.

Responsibilities

Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
Prepare and serve meals that support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life and create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience.
Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, attractively presented, and prepared in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
Build positive, respectful relationships with residents, engage with them, and incorporate their feedback into meal service whenever possible.
