About The Position

Under the direction of the Dietary Director, the cook is responsible for preparing food that will be served to patients, staff, employees, and visitors of SMRMC Health System. The Dietary Cook is responsible for all meal preparations based on the needs and orders from the physician concerning their patients. Must be able to adjust recipes based on the needs of the patients. At all times the cook must make sure the work area is clean and sanitary for the preparation of food. As determined by the Director of Dietary, the Dietary Cook works 80 hours per pay period and rotates every other weekend. The hours of work are Sunday through Saturday, 5:00 am to 1:30 pm for the day shift and 10:30 am to 7:00 pm for the evening shift. The Dietary Cook is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the organization. Must be able to work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Attendance to yearly mandatory education is non-negotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to schedule and attend sessions.
