About The Position
The Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls is looking for a full-time Cook to join their team in caring for America’s Heroes. They are a 5-Star, Deficiency Free, Homelike Care Community providing compassionate and professional long-term, skilled nursing care to veterans and spouses who cannot be cared for in their homes.
Requirements
- A working knowledge of food safety
- A basic knowledge of food service
- Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings
Responsibilities
- Prepare food according to diet standards, recipes and food production requirements
- Ensure all food is cooked and presented in an attractive and palliative way
- Ensure temperature of all food items per food safety standards
- Serves meals and follows policies and procedures for meal services
- Operate dish machine to wash dishes, record and monitor temperatures to ensure compliance.
- Deliver and transport food to serving areas or to residents and return dish wear to clean-up.
- Clean dish machine, dish room area, assigned work areas, equipment, and follow the cleaning policies and procedures
- Assist with putting stock away and ensure proper dating and rotation of stock to reduce waste
