The cook assists with preparing menus, inventory control, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. This position is responsible for preparing food in an appetizing and appealing manner. The role also involves fostering residents' independence with eating, preparing food for special community events, and ensuring proper food storage and handling in accordance with infection control standards. Associates are expected to work safely and alertly, take ownership of safety for themselves and residents, and disclose any medication that might impair their ability to perform the job safely. Non-essential functions include leading by example, encouraging teamwork, attending meetings, completing required training, and understanding safety procedures like the Safe Return program and fire evacuation.
