Friendship Village is seeking a compassionate and energetic individual to join our culinary team as a Cook which is responsible for preparation of all food items per standardized recipes and production sheets. This full-time position offers flexible scheduling, benefits, and no late nights, with a starting pay of $17.00 per hour. Ready to jump into a role that matters?
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English, understand measurements, make basic conversions, perform basic arithmetic, and follow basic oral and written instructions.
- A minimum of two years quantity cooking experience.
- Ability to plan and organize work and to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance.
- Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
Responsibilities
- Prepares all soups, stocks, and sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes.
- Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes.
- Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders.
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved.
