About The Position

Damar is seeking a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Cook to join their team. The Cook is responsible for completing assigned kitchen responsibilities related to all food preparation. The Cook will prepare meals, load food carts, and ensure the kitchen and equipment is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. Requirements

  • Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical and background checks
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Responsibilities

  • Aids in maintaining a clean and organized storeroom and coolers / freezers by making sure to return product to its correct location, breaking down boxes as needed, and monitoring best by dates on food
  • Follow recipes and menus for cooking and preparing meals
  • Assists in maintaining the cafeteria, kitchen, and equipment in a clean and sanitary manner which meets licensing requirements
  • Assists in preparing meals for clients with dietary needs, following guidance and ensuring all meals are presented neatly
  • Completes all documentation and essential paperwork accurately and legibly as needed (sanitation logs, food temperature records, cleaning logs, etc.)
  • Completes cleaning tasks, including maintaining a clean work area, assisting others in cleaning as well as participating in end of shift cleaning responsibilities
