About The Position

Devereux is seeking a Cook to join their team. This role involves preparing all food items, managing food services operations, and ensuring the food service area remains clean, orderly, and sanitized in an institutional setting. The Cook will follow federal and state guidelines in the planning, preparing, and serving of meals to individuals served, including those with special dietary needs outlined by a dietitian. This is a full-time position located in Goleta, CA, with a schedule of 9am-5:30pm and some flexibility. Compensation is $21-23/hr DOE.

Requirements

High School Diploma required
Must possess or be willing to obtain food safety certification
Minimum two years of experience, preferably in a similar setting
Educational requirements will be waived if candidate can demonstrate five (5) years’ experience in food service, preferably in an institutional setting
Free of dependency or abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substance
Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 25 lbs. or more

Responsibilities

Preparing, serving, and transporting meals
Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen
Ensuring all dishes and utensils are clean
Following a planned menu with special dietary needs outlined by a dietitian
