About The Position

Alto Walden Woods is hiring a Part-Time Cook to join our culinary team. This role offers consistent afternoon hours, ending by 6:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, providing a meaningful work opportunity without late nights or unpredictable schedules. The Cook will prepare and cook nutritious, quality meals for residents who appreciate good food, following approved menus and recipes while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. The position also involves keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and efficient, and collaborating with the dining team for smooth meal service. The primary responsibility is to prepare food of the highest quality and taste, ensuring attractive presentation that enhances the dining experience. This includes preparing delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented, making each meal service an exceptional occasion. The Cook will also supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook, prepare high-quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes, and adhere to standard recipes, budgeted costs, and Company policies. Additionally, the role involves supervising and/or assisting in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils, properly maintaining all kitchen equipment, and monitoring water temperatures and/or chemical compounds to ensure food safety. The Cook is expected to approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner and perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be flexible/adaptable

  • Must possess good time management skills
  • Must have a keen awareness of safety
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening
  • Adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy
