About The Position

The Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food for golfers, restaurant guests, banquet attendees, and special event participants at Presidio Golf Course. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring food is prepared safely, efficiently, and consistently according to established recipes and standards. The Cook supports all food and beverage operations, including the restaurant, snack bar, tournaments, outings, weddings, corporate events, and other special functions. The position requires a commitment to food quality, cleanliness, teamwork, reliability, and guest service consistent with KemperSports' service standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, banquet, hotel, country club, golf course, or hospitality kitchen preferred.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and production schedules.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift frequently throughout a shift.

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.

  • Work scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and special events as business demands require.
  • Follow established procedures for requesting time off and reporting absences or tardiness.
  • Maintain dependable attendance to ensure proper staffing and service levels for guests and events.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
  • Assist with daily food preparation, including cutting, chopping, marinating, portioning, and storing ingredients.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, taste, appearance, and temperature throughout service.
  • Assist with banquet and event food production as directed by the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager.
  • Maintain proper food rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times.
  • Properly clean and maintain kitchen equipment, workstations, coolers, freezers, and storage areas.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food handling, and temperature control procedures.
  • Minimize waste and use food products efficiently to support department profitability.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as requested.
  • Support KemperSports' commitment to exceptional guest service.
  • Prepare food that meets or exceeds guest expectations for quality and presentation.
  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with guests, team members, vendors, and management.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff regarding menu items, special requests, and operational needs.
  • Assist fellow team members during busy periods and special events.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and safety initiatives.
  • Support a positive workplace culture built on teamwork, accountability, and respect.
  • Follow all KemperSports policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report equipment issues immediately.
  • Maintain all required food handler certifications and training.
  • Follow proper procedures for workplace safety, accident reporting, and emergency situations.
