About The Position

The Experienced Cook supports daily kitchen operations for In-Room Dining by preparing, cooking, and packaging menu items to established standards for delivery to guest rooms. This role is designed for cooks with intermediate to advanced experience who can execute service independently, manage station responsibilities, and support a fast-paced, detail-driven service model in an ultra-premium resort environment. Placement as Cook II or Cook I will be based on experience, demonstrated skill, and leadership capability.

Requirements

  • 2–6+ years of professional kitchen experience in hotel, resort, or upscale dining environments
  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food quality control, and sanitation standards
  • Experience working in fast-paced, order-driven service environments preferred
  • Ability to work independently and maintain station accountability
  • High attention to detail, organization, and consistency
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary school or formal training preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and package In-Room Dining menu items according to recipes, portioning, temperature, and presentation standards
  • Execute orders accurately and efficiently to meet service timing and delivery expectations
  • Independently manage assigned stations during service based on experience level
  • Complete daily prep, station setup, and breakdown specific to In-Room Dining operations
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper holding temperatures for delivery
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of work areas and equipment
  • Follow FIFO, labeling, storage, and food safety procedures at all times
  • Coordinate with expeditors and service teams to ensure correct order flow and guest satisfaction
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and proper storage of food products
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership regarding volume, shortages, or issues
  • Identify and report equipment issues, food quality concerns, or safety hazards
  • Support training and mentoring of less-experienced cooks as appropriate
  • Uphold Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium culinary and service standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
