About The Position

Cook needed for school food service in the Mainland, NJ area. Monday through Friday, day shift, 6 am to 12 pm. No weekends or holidays, summers off! We follow a 10-month school calendar. Looking for a rewarding career with family - friendly schedule. Join our school nutrition team as a Cook in a High School Setting and help provide healthy, delicious meals to our students every day. Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift kitchen supplies, and perform the physical duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

• Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, school, healthcare or other commercial kitchen preferred.
• Experience with inventory and recordkeeping is a plus.
• POS system experience preferred, or the ability to learn.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for high school students.
• Serve meals in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Complete daily production records accurately.
• Count and monitor food and supply inventory.
• Operate a Point of Sale (POS) system or learn to use one.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Wash dishes and assist with daily kitchen cleaning.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with the school nutrition team to ensure excellent meal service.
