About The Position

Episcopal Homes of Minnesota has proudly served seniors for 130 years in St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood. Our vibrant campus offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Home Care services. Residents enjoy access to amenities including a fitness center, pool, pub, theater, and gourmet dining. We are currently hiring a Cook to join our outstanding culinary team and support our mission of providing exceptional dining experiences for residents.

Requirements

• Prior food production experience, preferably in a healthcare facility.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Basic math skills for performing simple calculations.
• Working knowledge of special diets and food safety guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English required to ensure safe patient care, accurately document in medical records, and effectively communicate with patients, families, and the care team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in healthcare or senior care settings preferred.
• Experience working in a senior care or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to recipes, dietary guidelines, and production sheets.
• Ensure food meets standards for portion control, temperature, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area.
• Utilize leftovers effectively by creating marketable dishes.
• Complete production and tally sheets accurately.
• Report malfunctioning equipment or food shortages promptly.
• Follow all safety and food handling policies.
• Reduce waste through proper portion control and efficient production.
• Collaborate with the culinary team and complete related tasks as assigned.
