About The Position

UP Health System-Portage, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Cook to join their team. This role is crucial in preparing food according to established procedures and guidelines, ensuring food quality and safety. The Cook will work within a hospital setting, contributing to the mission of making communities healthier.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Ability to be ServSafe Certified within 6 months of hire. Also, must re-certify every 3 years.

Nice To Haves

• Three Years experience in food services hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of food sanitation and safety (HACCP Servsafe Certificate)
• Knowledge of food quality through the use of established procedures and guidelines
• Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department
• Ability to motivate personnel, problem-solve effectively and handle stress in a positive manner
• Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital departments
