About The Position

A medical facility in Tyler, TX is hiring a Cook. This role involves preparing, cooking, and plating meals for patients, staff, and special events, while adhering to specific recipes and portion guidelines. The Cook will also be responsible for maintaining sanitation and food safety protocols, monitoring food supplies, and assisting with inventory. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday-Friday and every other weekend, with available shifts starting at 6am, 8am, 10am, or 12pm. The pay rate is $16 per hour with weekly pay.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Proficient in cooking and food prep techniques.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of operation of kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and a drug screening test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate meals for patients, staff, and special events, following specific recipes and portion guidelines.
• Follow all sanitation and food safety protocols, including temperature control, proper storage, and maintaining a clean work area.
• Monitor and order food supplies, and track inventory to ensure freshness and availability.
• Assist in other areas/ or duties as assigned.
