About The Position
This role is for a Cook at Gunnison Valley Health. The cook will be a valued part of the care team, preparing meals for patients. The position offers a strong team culture, schedule stability, and excellent benefits.
Requirements
- High School diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Minimum of two years in high volume food preparation, or equivalent training.
- "Safe-Serve" manager certification, or willingness to enroll in HACCP training, required.
- Must be eligible for a Colorado Driver’s License; valid Colorado Driver’s License required within six (6) months of employment and maintained current thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Assist Culinary Director with preparation of meals served in a high quality manner the reflect positively on the department and facility.
- Serve meals and snacks in a timely manner
- Assist with required documentation
- Help with menu planning in order to promote food quality and variety
- Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels, as well as rotation and cleanliness of storage areas
- Improve professional knowledge and competence by attending educational opportunities requested by Culinary director
- Help to train new employees
- Evaluate menu items to ensure proper quantities are served in accordance with requirements
