About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Full-time Cook for the Food Service Department. This role involves preparing all hot foods for patient trayline, café, and functions, including entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items. Specific incumbents for the PACE program require a minimum of one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population. The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, with rotating 8-hour shifts that can vary from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. A sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 is available for qualified candidates.

  • Food Handlers Card - Certification - Food Service Certification as required by local Health Department. (Required)
  • Cook <1 year (Required)
  • Food Service- <1 year (Required)
  • Experience in Lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted.

  • PACE specific incumbents for this position require a minimum of one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population.
  • Restaurant or Hospital Cook Experience (Preferred)
