Reports to the Dietary Director: Full Pay Range: $19.00- $23.00 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain kitchen and cooking areas in a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary manner. Prepare a variety of flavorful meals in large quantities while following portion control guidelines. Accurately prepare special diets as required. Record food temperatures for all meals. Prepare pureed foods as needed. Maintain quaternary solution in sanitizer buckets. Assist with serving meals and ensuring resident satisfaction. Clean cooking areas and serving carts after meal service. Report resident care concerns and potential issues to the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing. Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff. Ensure food presentation is appealing to residents. Work collaboratively with personnel across all departments. Adhere to cleaning schedules and ensure compliance with sanitation standards. Qualifications: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility. Language Skills: Ability to read and follow technical procedures and recipes. Effectively communicate with managers and employees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
