About The Position

Ocean Meadow Senior Living is seeking passionate individuals to join their team and provide compassionate care and support to individuals living with memory challenges. This role is for a Cook responsible for food preparation and presentation, ensuring high customer service and a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment.
Food handlers permit as required by state law.
Able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs.
Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking, and service.

Nice To Haves

Culinary Training preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food in the community.
Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented according to Ocean Meadow Senior Living standards.
Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere.
Work closely with the Director of Culinary Services and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
Ensure that all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas clean, safe, and sanitary.
Responsible for the overall food quality and presentation of meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
In the absence of the Director of Culinary Services, oversee daily kitchen operations, helping maintain high standards for food preparation and service.
Assist Director of Culinary Services in menu planning and development based on resident likes and dislikes.
Document the temperatures of food before service, as well as refrigeration and freezer temperatures.
Prepare and ensure snacks and beverages are always available to residents.
Keep kitchen floors clean (sweeps and mops) and trash emptied.
Assist with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
