About The Position

Martha & Mary Kids is seeking a responsible and professional Full Time Cook to join our amazing team located in Silverdale, WA! The Cook is responsible for implementing the meal preparation and planning of the meals, ordering the supplies, maintaining the kitchen and food storage accordingly, and accurate and descriptive record keeping. We are looking for a reliable individual who is committed to providing quality work, compassion for those we serve, and strive to make a difference in children’s lives. Requirements

• Organizational and calculation skills
• Reliability and dependability
• Someone with great integrity and trustworthiness
• Must have basic computer skills i.e., email, word documents
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Relevant experience working in a licensed childcare center, public school, or commercial kitchen required
• Knowledgeable in USDA requirements
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler’s Permit and a First Aid/CPR certificate

Nice To Haves

• Must possess a current food handlers’ card and have experience in USDA Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop menus, prepare and serve breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snacks for children in the program, following an approved USDA menu.
• Manage all aspects of prepping and preparing meals, as well as cleaning and complying with sanitation requirements.
• Inventory, order, and check invoices and store all kitchen supplies and food.
• Maintain complete records pertaining to USDA/CACFP Food Program, Martha & Mary KIDS Requirements and Washington State Licensing guidelines.
• The ability to understand the needs of children with food allergies, and to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance.
