About The Position

A medical facility in Tyler, TX is seeking a Cook to prepare, cook, and plate meals for patients, staff, and special events. The role requires adherence to specific recipes, portion guidelines, and strict sanitation and food safety protocols. The Cook will also be responsible for monitoring food supplies, tracking inventory, and assisting in other areas as needed.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Proficient in cooking and food prep techniques.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of operation of kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and a drug screening test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate meals for patients, staff, and special events, following specific recipes and portion guidelines.
• Follow all sanitation and food safety protocols, including temperature control, proper storage, and maintaining a clean work area.
• Monitor and order food supplies, and track inventory to ensure freshness and availability.
• Assist in other areas/ or duties as assigned.
