About The Position

Southern NH Medical Center's food services and dietary team is the heart of the medical center, providing a place of comfort for staff, patients, and families with hot meals, coffee, and a variety of courses. The Food Services and Dietary teams collaborate to ensure all dietary restrictions are maintained and to uphold patient-centered values. This role works in the kitchen in the preparation and production of food products for the café, catering, and patient nutrition areas. Various food items are prepared in response to the needs of patients, the café, and specific functions, while meeting all standards of quality, consistency, and safe food production.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in related food service cooking production required
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Some Culinary education preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and cooks foods to order or in batches with limited supervision or instruction.
  • Follows recipes and/or product directions for a variety of food items.
  • Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
  • Complies with all department HACCP policies and procedures including recording of temperatures, proper food handling and storage, labelling and dating.
