About The Position

Green Country Village Senior Living is seeking a hospitality-focused Cook to add to its Culinary Services team. This role is responsible for the preparation of all food items as per established menus and standardized/approved recipes, contributing to an uplifting community where active older adults enjoy vibrant living, rewarding opportunities, exceptional hospitality, and great friendships.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 100% of the work day (4-8-hour shift).
  • Ability to independently lift, balance, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to access and navigate full campus.
  • Ability to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions.
  • Hospitality focused and strive to create quality experiences for those you serve.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with residents and their guests.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time-management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with ability to balance meal service and preparations for next day.
  • Ability to navigate commercial kitchen and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Safety focus to ensure safe environment for residents and guests.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior Living community experience is preferred.
  • Fine dining experience preferred.
  • Experience in food production to balance meal service hours.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and directs the preparation of all food served following established menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders.
  • Determines the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus, and sees that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
  • Maintains safe, sanitary, and orderly conditions in all work areas; promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for residents and staff at all times.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment, floors, work surfaces, and other work areas according to specified cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Creates an enjoyable dining experience for residents and guests.
  • May supervise the opening and closing of dining rooms; checks to be sure side work and station set-up and break-down are properly completed.
  • Adheres to Hospitality Promises, which include greeting residents, employees, and guests warmly, treating everyone with courteous respect, anticipating needs, listening and responding enthusiastically, holding oneself and others accountable, embracing differences, making others feel important, asking "Is there anything else I can do for you?", and maintaining high levels of professionalism and attention to detail.
