This position involves preparing, assembling baked goods, cooking, seasoning, and portioning food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors within the designated facility, adhering to menu and dietary requirements. The role requires maintaining high food quality standards, including appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation. Responsibilities also include performing washing and cleaning duties to ensure cleanliness in cooking and serving areas, maintaining proper labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery, and providing the highest quality and safest food possible. The Cook will work with many internal customers, necessitating strong communication and teamwork skills, and must be able to function effectively in a dynamic culinary environment. The role also involves following standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food preparation, storage, and use, as well as documenting HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes. The Cook will operate various kitchen equipment and may need to work independently.
