This is a part-time position where the cook will manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role involves preparing tasteful meals, following menus and portion control, and accurately preparing special diets. The cook is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen environment, recording food temperatures, preparing pureed foods, and assisting with serving meals. Cooperation with other departments and participation in staff training are also key aspects of the role. The cook must ensure cleaning schedules are followed and make food presentations appealing to residents. This position has supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
