The Hilton Cleveland Downtown is looking for their next Cook to join the culinary team at The Burnham Restaurant! Located inside the Hilton Cleveland Downtown, The Burnham is a stylish, modern New American restaurant offering elevated takes on Midwest comfort food. Led by a culinary team known for crafting thoughtful, artful dishes, the restaurant blends sophistication with approachability and showcases seasonally inspired breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. The Hilton Cleveland Downtown provides a dynamic and professional setting for team members to grow their hospitality careers! The ideal Cook candidate is a skilled and motivated cook who brings both experience and passion to the kitchen. They will have at least one year of professional restaurant cooking experience, demonstrating consistent performance in a fast‑paced culinary environment. This candidate is confident working multiple stations, from grill to sauté to pantry, and understands how to transition smoothly during service. They possess solid culinary foundations, including proper knife skills, efficient prep techniques, and the ability to execute dishes accurately during busy service periods. A strong sense of organization, teamwork, and cleanliness is essential, as is a positive attitude and a desire to grow within a professional kitchen.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute elevated, high-quality dishes in alignment with The Club’s premium dining standards
  • Support and guide culinary team members, providing direction, training, and oversight during service.
  • Execute menu items to specification during breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
  • Work multiple stations efficiently, including grill, sauté, pantry, or other assigned areas.
  • Maintain exceptional food presentation and quality, ensuring all menu items meet brand expectations.
  • Coordinate with leadership and service teams to ensure smooth communication and efficient service flow.
  • Monitor food inventory levels, assist with ordering, and reduce waste through proper rotation and storage.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, including proper handling, labeling, and cleanliness of all food areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times.
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations.
