Requirements

• Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting
• Strong knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling procedures, and sanitation practices
• Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques that ensure efficiency and safety
• Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members
• Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations
• Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high-quality output
• Prior experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
• Knowledge of food safety management systems and adherence to health regulations

• Experience working in dietary departments or with dietary aide teams is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
• Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of ingredients and utensils
• Assist in menu planning by suggesting creative dishes that align with dietary requirements and customer preferences
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning workstations, utensils, appliances, and floors regularly
• Collaborate with dietary aides and kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery schedules
• Ensure all food is prepared adhering to recipe specifications, portion control, and quality standards
