Chef/Cook - Independent Senior Living Community

About The Position

Good food has a way of making people feel at home. In our community, dining is more than just serving meals - it is one of the most important ways we care for our residents, welcome families, and create a warm, enjoyable place to live and work. We are looking for a kind, dependable, and talented Cook to join our dining team. Our kitchen takes pride in preparing delicious, scratch-made meals, and nearly 90% of our menu is made from scratch. If you enjoy cooking real food, working with a supportive team, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults, this could be a wonderful fit. As a Cook, you will help prepare and serve meals under the direction of the Executive Chef. You will follow menus, recipes, sanitation standards, and food safety procedures while helping create meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and served with care. You will also help keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, organized, and ready for each meal service. This role is about more than cooking. It is about helping residents feel cared for and respected. You may assist residents during mealtimes, help create a pleasant dining experience, and communicate any concerns about a resident's health or well-being to the Executive Chef or Executive Director. Maintaining resident confidentiality and serving each person with dignity are important parts of the job. The right person for this role will be comfortable cooking and baking from scratch, willing to learn, and able to work well with supervisors and co-workers. A positive attitude, reliability, and genuine compassion for older adults matter just as much as kitchen experience. You should be able to communicate well with residents, families, and team members, and be willing to jump in wherever needed to help the dining department succeed. Applicants must have a current Food Handler's Permit and provide written proof of a recent TB test or obtain one within two weeks of hire. This position may require occasional heavy lifting up to 40 pounds. While exposure to blood or bodily fluids is unlikely, it is possible. If you love good food, take pride in your work, and want a job where your effort truly brightens someone's day, we would love to meet you. Please send your resume and a brief note telling us why you would be a great fit for our dining team. Come help us create meals and moments that nourish both body and soul.
