About The Position

Alto Warner Robins is hiring a Full-Time Cook to join our culinary team. With 12-hour shifts Tuesday through Saturday, you'll always have Sunday and Monday off — a consistent two-day weekend every week. No late-night restaurant closings. No unpredictable schedules. Just steady, meaningful work cooking for residents who truly look forward to every meal. The primary responsibility of the Cook is to prepare food of the highest quality and taste for residents and guests of the Community ensuring that the food presentation enhances the dining experience of the residents and guests.

Requirements

  • ServSafe certification — required
  • CPR/First Aid certification — required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and takes pride in food quality and presentation
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
  • Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preparing meals in a restaurant, cafeteria, healthcare facility, or senior living community — preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Some software and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special diet meals according to approved recipes and menus
  • Accommodate residents' dietary restrictions and special nutritional needs
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards throughout every shift
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and properly store food using FIFO rotation
  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with dietary staff to meet meal service schedules
  • Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented making each meal service an exceptional occasion.
  • Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
  • Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes. Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies.
  • Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils. Properly maintain all kitchen equipment. Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
  • Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
