About The Position

A medical facility in Tyler, TX is looking for Cooks to join their team. This position involves preparing meals for patients, staff, and special events, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards. The role also includes managing food supplies and inventory. The work schedule is Monday-Friday with every other weekend required, and available shifts start at 6am, 8am, 10am, or 12pm. The pay rate is $16 per hour.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required
• Proficient in cooking and food prep techniques
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition
• Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions accurately
• Knowledge of operation of kitchen equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and a drug screening test

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate meals for patients, staff, and special events, following specific recipes and portion guidelines.
• Follow all sanitation and food safety protocols, including temperature control, proper storage, and maintaining a clean work area.
• Monitor and order food supplies, and track inventory to ensure freshness and availability.
• Assist in other areas/ or duties as assigned.
