We are looking for Cook’s Assistant / Deep Cleaner to join our The Gardens team in Qualicum Beach, B.C. The Gardens at Qualicum Beach is retirement living in the picturesque beauty of Qualicum Beach, surrounded by colourful gardens, a lagoon and in the heart of town with shopping, golfing, dining and beaches nearby. Requirements

A valid Food Safe certificate
WHIMIS certificate
Must complete screening for TB
Proof of COVID vaccination
Must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Record Check

Nice To Haves

Grade 10 minimum education is preferred

Responsibilities

Clean dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery according to established culinary procedures
Monitor and record temperature of the dish machine and report all deficiencies to Executive Chef
Ensure the correct use of dish washing chemicals
Assist in food prep as assigned by Cook or Executive Chef
Clean and disinfect all surfaces, including counters, walls, floors, shelving, and storage areas
Clean hard-to-reach areas, including behind and under equipment, to maintain sanitation standards
Degrease and thoroughly clean kitchen equipment, ovens, hoods, sinks, and dishwashing stations
Restocking of work area and ensure proper stock rotation is maintained
Complete required food safety and production logs
Maintain a safe work environment at all time
Ensure proper use, handling, and storage of cleaning and dishwashing chemicals in accordance with WHMIS
Attend in-service meetings and training as required
