Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in food services
  • Food Handlers Permit (FHP:AZ) or Servsafe Certification (SERVSAFE) within 30 days

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree
  • Two (2) years of equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of the Associate's degree
  • One (1) year of hospital experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of food for patients, staff, and visitors of our healthcare facility following safe cooking techniques.
  • Assist in the oversight of staff to ensure that all processes and procedures are being followed.
  • Prepare food for multiple therapeutic diets and complies with state and federal laws and regulations related to food preparation in a healthcare environment.
  • Support quality control measures such as recipe adherence and food quality consistency.
  • Use leadership skills to mentor others and various cooking techniques and methods to prepare meals that meet our customers’ expectations.
  • Handle multiple food orders without compromising on quality while being an inspirational leader.
  • Champion food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation.
  • Prepare and serve food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills, etc.
  • Modify preparations to account for food allergies.
  • Maintain proper labeling of food products and ensures storage of food equipment, and machinery per regulations and facility guidelines.
  • Perform washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
