Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) is a large not-for-profit agency that serves some of the most vulnerable people in our communities from Vancouver to Hope. We work with youth and vulnerable adults in the areas of education, employment, housing, substance use and mental health, and youth and family support services. Honour Secondary School (HSS) is an independent secondary school in Surrey serving youth in Grades 10–12 who benefit from an alternative educational setting. HSS offers a comprehensive academic program within a small, supportive learning environment that emphasizes individualized instruction, flexibility, and strong relationships. The program is designed to create a safe, engaging space where students can re-engage with their education, build academic confidence, and develop positive skills and behaviours that support long-term success. HSS also provides targeted support to address barriers to learning and works collaboratively with justice, community, and partners to support student stability and positive educational outcomes. The Cook oversees all food programs offered out of a busy youth centre. They are responsible for planning, preparing and providing a nutritional meal program four days a week for school and centre. With a sound understanding of the Canada Food Guide and the importance of nutrition in youth development, the cook incorporates a variety of cultural foods while maintaining nutritional standards. The Cook will also be responsible for purchasing groceries, maintaining inventory and ensuring the kitchen and work space meets health authority cleanliness and safety standards.
