This position involves preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. The role requires washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. The Cook II will prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists, including preparing cold foods. Responsibilities include operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, testing foods for doneness, and monitoring food quality during preparation. The role also entails setting up and breaking down the work station, serving food in proper portions onto appropriate receptacles, and washing and disinfecting the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Additionally, the Cook II must check and ensure the correctness of appliance and food temperatures. The position requires adherence to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions. Safety training and certifications must be completed. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and using clear and professional language are essential. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and responding appropriately to employee concerns are also key. The role requires ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, and performing movements such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance is necessary. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by supervisors.
