About The Position

UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health seeks a Full Time Cook I Nutritional Services Aide. This position is located at Geneva General Hospital and offers full-time hours with a competitive benefit and PTO package.

Requirements

  • Prior cooking experience.
  • Ability to prepare items following a recipe and to convert recipes to appropriate quantities.
  • Proper use and knowledge of kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Knowledge of different measures.
  • Knowledge of proper temperatures for all food.
  • Ability to read and write and communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working under HACCP standards.
  • Prior Hospital and/or Nursing Home experience.
  • One year of formal training or education beyond the high school level with culinary concentration.
  • Familiar with health care food service, standards of operation or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and distribute food for patients, residents, and non-patient meals.
  • Meet production schedules, assuring high quality products and preventing food waste.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate operation of the meal service trayline, dishroom, pots and pans area, cafeteria, storeroom and coolers.
  • Maintain high standards to ensure quality services, sanitation and safety.
  • Observe all recipe and HACCP guidelines in order to meet all State and Regulatory Agency requirements.
  • Provide a tray presentation that is neat and clean and appealing to the eye.
  • Follow diet orders and tray notes and tray tickets accurately to ensure patient/resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
