Core Functions Review menus and production sheets to determine types and quantities of food to prepare. Plan cooking schedules to ensure meals are ready at designated times. Prepare meals according to dietary modifications and approved substitutions. Taste and season food appropriately during preparation. Ensure all food items are properly labeled and dated. Check food temperatures prior to meal service. Adhere to correct portion sizes for all servings. Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including utensils, equipment, refrigerators, steam tables, and microwaves. Follow infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and glove use. Comply with DNV and ISO 9001 standards. Check and store food supplies appropriately. Minimize waste and manage leftovers effectively. Provide courteous service to patients, staff, and visitors, including pediatric, geriatric, and general populations. Perform additional duties as assigned to support kitchen operations and departmental goals. Professional Responsibility Adheres to hospital dress code; maintains a neat and professional appearance. Promotes positive guest relations through courteous and respectful interactions. Reports to work on time, follows scheduled hours, and completes tasks within designated timeframes. Wears identification badge while on duty and accurately uses the timekeeping system. Completes required in-service training and returns documentation promptly. Attends a minimum of 75% of scheduled staff meetings. Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies. Completes annual physical examination prior to employment anniversary date. Assists with onboarding and training of new staff members. Communicates and upholds the hospital’s mission, values, and ethical standards.
