About The Position

Prepare and serve meals for patients, staff members, and guests. This role is responsible for meeting specialized dietary needs and for following patient menu requests, assuring patient meal trays are set up accurately and attractively. The position also requires completing regular cleaning duties using proper sanitation techniques as required to meet regulatory guidelines and exhibiting excellent customer service skills when interacting with the public and all hospital departments.

Requirements

• High level of cleanliness

• Excellent customer service skills
• California Food Safety Handlers Card required.
• Ability to work on an on-call, per diem basis.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience in the Food Service industry preferred.
• Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets and food preparation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food according to the menu and recipe guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic food groups and therapeutic diets.
• Assures all plates are appetizing and prepared in accordance with the diet order.
• Serves meals within the time guidelines established in departmental policies.
• Is responsible for ware-washing procedures using proper sanitation techniques.
• Responsible for accurate collection and accounting of money for meals purchased.
• Stocks and monitors satellite food storage areas.
